BOPET manufacturer Terphane and carbon negative materials company Origin Materials have formed a strategic partnership to produce sustainable, high-performance bio-polymer films. Terphane has signed a multi-year capacity reservation agreement to purchase Origin’s bio-based polyester PEF, which they will use to develop new films for food and beverage packaging and industrial applications. This new PEF-based film is expected to offer properties similar to traditional PET film, including recyclability, superior strength, thermal resistance, and barrier performance, while being made from 100% plant-based materials with a reduced carbon footprint.
